Overview
Hungarian as a foreign language is taught at five different levels from beginner to advanced. Students can choose language courses at different intensities from 2 to 8 hours per week. During the fall semester we offer pronunciation practice in a language lab.
Key facts:
- Hungarian Language and Culture Preparatory Programme at University of Szeged starts with an orientation week to help students prepare for their studies.
- Besides practical issues, at the beginning of the fall semester, students participate in a cultural sensitization training that familiarizes them with the new culture and learning environment and offers ways of overcoming potential problems.
- At the end of the spring semester, students are eligible for reduced pricing to attend the 4-week intensive Summer University organized by the Hungarian Studies Center.

- A certificate of completion of secondary education is required. Students are expected to have a good command of English.
- Minimum English test score requirements are: IELTS level 5.5, Cambridge English 150 points overall, Cambridge Preliminary pass with merit, TOEFL 53 points, or TOEFL ITP 477 points.
