Overview

Cardiovascular health and disease strictly depend on a dynamic interplay among genes, ageing, lifestyle, and risk factors.

In recent years, this field has witnessed major advances in research and revisions of clinical programs, translated into new practical guidelines.

Furthermore, a new research paradigm – including genotype-phenotype relationships, the development of advanced investigative and diagnostic tools, and the application of artificial intelligence toward improved personalized and precision cardiovascular medicine – represents an exciting perspective on the horizon for scientits and clinicians interested in cardiovacsular pathophysiology and medicine.

The Summer School will be activated with at least 30 students. The maximum number of participants is set to 100 students.

The Summer School will be held on campus in Pisa, at Centro Congressi Le Benedettine, Piazza San Paolo a Ripa D’Arno, 16.

Programme Structure

This Summer School aims to provide state-of-the-art, cutting-edge developments in the understanding of major cardiovacsular diseases, spanning from basic sciences and pathophysiological perspectives to clinical applications.

It will be strongly characterized by a multidisciplinary approach, presenting fundamental pathophysiological principles of cardiovascular function, established knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, and innovative perspectives in cardiovascular treatment and management.

Emerging views on cardiometabolic disorders, cardiomyopathies, pathophysiology-guided approaches to interventional cardiology, and the functional and structural aspects of atherothrombotic disease will represent key topics.

Audience

The Summer School is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Medicine and Life Sciences, PhD students, medical students, and students enrolled in specialization schools of Cardiology and pneumology.
