Overview
During CHC40421 Certificate IV in Youth Work at Open Colleges you will learn:
- How to listen to and understand young people’s problems taking into account their background and circumstances, and support them in the areas they are struggling with.
- The skills to interact and work with the families and guardians of young people, to arrive at the best possible outcomes for your young client’s welfare.
How to understand and work with a variety of cultural perspectives, and promote the health and safety of young people living in these communities.
This course includes a mandatory work placement to help you build essential practical skills. You'll need to complete 160hours of placement, which is made easier through Open Colleges’ Guaranteed Work Placement initiative. In partnership with trusted provider SkilTrak, Open Colleges organises your placement for you, so you can stay focused on your studies. It's a great way to gain hands-on experience in your chosen field.
