Overview
With the study of social life at its heart, the scope of sociology is almost limitless. The discipline encompasses, for example, family life, education, crime, work, war, religion, capitalism, power, love, the self, the media, to name just a few. Sociology also has an abiding concern with the main markers of social difference in modern society – class, gender, ‘race’ or ethnicity, age, sexuality and (dis)ability.
The Department of Sociology at Warwick is known nationally and internationally for its excellence in teaching and research. In this session, a lecturer from the department will explore some key sociological themes based to their own research and teaching interests.
