What you will study
The Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance workshop offered by th eUniversity of Cape Town will consist of a series of lectures, followed by practical sessions based on the theory. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with MRI where they can gain a deeper understanding on how to plan, execute and analyse Cardiac MRI scans.

- CMR anatomy and function
- flow in adult congenital heart disease
- CMR LGE and viability assessment
- CMR velocity encoded imaging
CMR for:
- myocarditis
- infiltrative heart disease
- ischemic heart disease
- systemic rheumatic disease
- HIV-associated cardiovascular disease
- CMR safety in permanent pacemakers and implantable- cardioverter defibrillators
