Cape Peninsula University of Technology's Pattern Development 1 course will give delegates an opportunity to learn the basic principals of pattern development with hands-on activities such as drafting and manipulating flat patterns.
Programme Structure
Courses include:
- Understand various pattern calculations e.g. division, multiplication, addi-tion, subtraction, fractions, etc.
- Understand and interpret the human form through the measurement of various critical body dimensions.
- Understand and interpret instructions for the drafting of basic block pat-terns for ladies wear.
- Understand, identity and interpret various basic design principles that affect pattern construction
- Draft basic blocks to create correct balance and fit for specific body measurement - standard measurements.
- Interpret various design and construction detail into clear, detailed, accu-rate technical drawings.
