What you will study
EEM is a built-in automation framework for Cisco IOS that allows you to program network devices to react intelligently to events in real time. In this course, you'll start by exploring the EEM architecture, core components, and event detectors that form the foundation of automated device behavior.
Then, through live demos and guided labs, you'll learn to build and deploy EEM applets to automate routine tasks such as configuration backups and change tracking, enforce security by blocking risky CLI commands, integrate EEM with Enhanced Object Tracking to improve resiliency and trigger automated failover for advanced use cases, and integrate EEM with the IOS GuestShell and Python for advanced use cases.
By the end of the Embedded Event Manager course at INE Tech, you'll have the practical hands-on experience needed to build and deploy event-driven automation policies that simplify operations, enhance uptime, and streamline troubleshooting of Cisco IOS-based network devices.
