Overview
Key facts
- The Chinese fiddle or Erhu is thought to have evolved from an earlier instrument known as a Xiqin which originated in central Asia over 1,000 years ago. The Erhu is a two stringed bowed instrument with a beautifully characteristic haunting sound quality and is most famously used in the sound track to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
