Overview
Developed in partnership with World Class Productivity (WCP), a leading provider of Project Management Training and consulting services, this Advanced Project Monitoring and Control course is designed to prepare project managers for the challenges they will face in the real world.
The course is taught in a style similar to the flagship Project Management Applied Tools and Techniques workshop at the University of Waterloo, however this course focuses on project execution, monitoring and control, and project completion.

This course focuses on the execution, monitoring and control, and project completion aspects of project management. Using group discussions, realistic project scenarios, and exercise simulations, you will learn to apply advanced techniques of project management to actively guide your projects to a successful outcome.
It emphasizes the application of context and common sense to project management tools and techniques. It also enables you to achieve tangible, real-world value by transitioning your learning into your workplace projects and scenarios.
Programme Structure
Through project simulation, group exercises, and discussion, participants completing this course will be able to:- Accurately distill and communicate project status using earned value metrics, trend analysis, and forecasting techniques to proactively manage progress
- Adjust project controls to reflect contract types and understand their impact on cost, quality, and timing
- Select the appropriate level at which to monitor control accounts and apply statistical techniques to identify, prioritize, and address performance issues
- Perform quantitative risk and decision analysis to evaluate mitigation strategies and guide course corrections
- Apply quality management principles and root cause analysis to improve project outcomes and overall value
- Differentiate between issue and scope management to enhance project execution and stakeholder satisfaction
- Understand contracts and procurement, and apply this knowledge to influence project performance
