Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this Caring for the Caregiver course at the University of Manitoba, you should be able to:
- recognize his or her own defense patterns used in communication
- identify self-care strategies, and teach and mentor others to apply these strategies
- recognize and characterize secondary trauma and its impact on the caregiver
- apply effective strategies for finding support in his or her own life as a caregiver
- coach and mentor caregivers on accessing appropriate supports
