Upon completion of this Aboriginal Students and the Post-Secondary Journey course at the University of Manitoba, you should be able to:
- identify historical aspects of Canadian Indian/Aboriginal/First Nations/Metis Inuit/Indigenous education
- articulate why there is a push to Indigenize Post-Secondary Education at this point in time
- provide examples of Canadian models of Indigenization in higher education
- provide rationale for the use of a range of media to achieve understanding across cultures
- be able to analyze models of Indigenization in post-secondary institutes based in sociohistorical context
- identify curricular problems that may arise in mainstream institutions under Indigenization
- develop respectful, dialogically based curriculum for co-scription of knowledge in Post-Secondary Education
