What you will study

Learn advanced clinical anatomy, including all aspects of regional and systemic anatomy, in this bespoke course for medical and allied health clinicians.

Based on the Anatomy requirements of the Generic Surgical Sciences Examination of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, this course is relevant to trainee clinicians from surgical, radiologic and medical disciplines and allied health professionals.

This Advanced Clinical Anatomy course offered by the University of Queensland has been designed to improve knowledge of clinically relevant anatomy, thus enhancing acceptance for vocational training and upgrading clinical performance.

After completing the course, you’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge of the surgical relevance of the structures covered and the right surgical and procedural approaches to each organ or anatomical structure. You'll also be able to demonstrate skills in interpreting radiologic images.

  • You must hold an MBBS, MD or equivalent, or an approved degree in the non-medical allied health field (e.g. physiotherapy, radiography). 
  • Prospective surgical, radiology and pathology trainees and non-medical allied health professionals.
  • Before starting the course, and for the duration of the course, you must comply with professional registration requirements for medicine, physiotherapy or radiography.
  • To be eligible for entry to most UQ programs, you need to meet our minimum English language requirements (overall IELTS of 6.5 and 6.0 in all sub-bands or equivalent).
