The luxury sector plays a major role the French economy and requires a specific set of managerial skills and expertise. The HEC Paris Summer Program in Luxury Management is aimed at students with intellectual curiosity and a particular interest in luxury business and who wish to discover different ways of doing business.

This intensive Summer Program in Luxury Management at HEC Paris introduces students to key concepts and principles of luxury management.

  • The curriculum has been specifically designed to provide in-depth understanding of the luxury industry, its role in society and the key principles that definie it, through particular focus on luxury brand management, the touchpoint between brand and customer, the balance between business and creation and the contemporary sales strategies adopted by luxury brands.
  • Although the program is aimed participants with limited experience in the luxury industry, the course material and teaching methods still provide a challenging experience for those with more experience and more advanced knowledge.

Programme Structure

The courses will enable students to:

  • Understand the key specificities of  luxury business in terms of managerial practices
  • Apply the key principles of management in the luxury industry to make appropriate business decisions
  • Describe and analyze the characteristics of a luxury brand and get a sense of the prerequisites to be able to build one over time
  • Develop and formulate a luxury strategy based on the offering’s characteristics and market opportunities
  • Master the implications of a luxury strategy from a financial perspective

General requirements

  • Summer Programs are open to participants of all domains and who are seeking a high-level academic experience, whether the topic is a new or familiar one. They should have at least one year of post-high school studies behind them at the time of the program and a maximum of 4 years' work experience in the field of the program they are applying to. 
  • In order to benefit in full from the experience, both inside and outside of the classroom, applicants should be able to understand spoken English with relative ease and express themselves fluently and spontaneously. An overall CEFR level C1 is therefore required, including level C1 specifically in the Speaking and Listening components.
  • Please note that we take an advisory-based approach to your application, so given your background, the team may recommend an alternative program.
