Overview
Key facts
The aim of the Fundamental Immunology course offered by Institut Pasteur is to teach students the organization and components of the immune system, allowing them to understand the general responses to pathogens, and how vaccines work. Lectures will also present selected immune pathologies, such as autoimmune diseases and allergy, as well as several immune-based therapeutic approaches. Practical works will initiate them to the most common methods used by immunologists, such as cell culture, cytometry, molecular biology and imaging.

- T lymphocytes and antigen presentation
- Stem cells, lymphopoiesis and hematopoiesis
- B lymphocytes
- Antitumor immunity and immunotherapy
- Evolution of immune systems
- Response regulation, tolerance, auto-Immunity
- Gene therapy and immunity
