Overview
Causality as a tool for de-biasing current deep learning algorithms. Students will use the idea of causality to different deep learning tasks to de-bias the datasets or algorithms in order to improve the accuracy and trustworthiness.
Causality as a tool for invariant learning. This project mainly focuses on transfer learning, students will use causality to design transfer learning algorithms.
Internships are flexible, allowing you to choose your start and end dates at any point throughout the year. This year-round flexibility helps create an international community of interns from top universities. KAUST covers tuition fees, housing, return flights, and provides a monthly stipend for living expenses.

VSRP interns leave with a strong grasp of their research field, equipped with practical skills valuable in further studies or any career. Many participants of the Causal and Fair Machine Learning (Internship) project at King Abdullah University Of Science and Technology (KAUST) have presented their findings at conferences or published papers.

- During the project, students will have opportunity to learn about some topics in trustworthy machine learning, especially fair learning, transfer learning and causal learning.
- They will learn and implement the SOTA methods. Hopefully, they may produce some publication after the intern.

The KAUST Fellowship includes:
- Full coverage of tuition and bench fees (worth USD $35,000 per year)
- A monthly stipend (worth USD $20,000 per year for PG Diploma and M.S. students, and USD $25,000 to $30,000 for Ph.D. students depending on qualifications and academic progress)
