About

University of Tennessee Knoxville's English Experience Camp is an immersive program for international high school students (under 18) to improve academic and conversational English while experiencing life at a major U.S. university. Held during Summer or Winter breaks, it combines language learning with cultural exposure.

Overview

Join international high school students from around the world for an immersive English language and cultural program at one of the top public universities in the U.S.

Held during school breaks, the Academic English Experience combines daily English instruction (9 a.m.–12 p.m.) with afternoon and weekend activities designed to explore American culture and university life. You'll stay in university dorms, experience life on a vibrant campus, and improve your academic and conversational English in a real university setting.

Programme Structure

The program includes:
  • Exposure to Academic Programs – Get exclusive access to 1,900 faculty and 900 academic programs to explore your future education and career path.
  • Explore Our Campus – Discover over 900 acres and 257 buildings on a campus of more than 30,000 students.
  • Expert Instruction – Learn from experienced, English-speaking instructors in an academic setting.
  • English Proficiency Placement – Take an official placement test to align your skills with global standards (CEFR).
  • Cultural Immersion – Connect with other international students and join fun, guided activities that showcase American life.
