The theoretical lectures will introduce participants to the main fundamentals of flow cytometry, covering key concepts such as data acquisition, morphological data analysis, and multicolor flow cytometry. Specific topics will include doublet discrimination, fluorescence compensation, cell viability, proliferation, and morphological data.

The theoretical lectures will offer participants direct experience in applying these concepts, focusing on essential experimental approaches such as cell cycle analysis, morphological data evaluation, and the assessment of mitochondrial membrane potential. The Summer School will be activated with at least 8 students. The maximum number of participants is set to 24 students. The Summer School will be held on campus in Pisa, at Polo Nobili, via Alessandro Volta, 4.

Programme Structure

The goal of the workshop is to provide students with theoretical foundations and practical skills in fluorescent flow cytometry, fostering critical awareness in data analysis and interpretation for applications in cell biology, pharmacology, and toxicology.
