The course will furthermore give you the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and intellectual abilities to design new vehicles based on a clear understanding of proportion, volume and surface design principles. You will have the opportunity to talk with professionals in the field and experience this career path through practical training and guided tours and visits.

Methodology

This  Car Design - An Introduction programme from Istituto Europeo Di Design (IED)  is intended to stimulate creative thinking while allowing you to develop technical skills in the car design field.

Following an introduction to the automobile industry from an historical point of view, you will acquire the technical skills to correctly visualize a concept and to explore an object from different points of observation.

You will understand and learn the techniques of volume and perspective in design which will allow you to develop ‘creative concepts’ and translate your own ideas in car design projects. After a general overview of the automotive engineering, you will move forward into modelling lab and, together with your classmates, you will produce your car design model. Projects will be subject to groups and teachers’ critiques.
