Overview
The Anatomy and Developmental Biology course from UCL Summer School covers topographical anatomy and the embryonic development of the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, musculoskeletal, urogenital systems, and the limbs.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the module, students will have:
- Described and compared the principal structures of major human organs and systems.
- Understood the anatomical basis of the function of major organ systems, such as the circulation, digestive tract, reproductive tract and nervous system.
- Developed an understanding of the cellular organisation of the major tissues and organs of human anatomy.
- Learned the basic principles of embryonic development and the formation of the body plan during the first four weeks of human development.
- Examined the embryonic development of the major organ systems, including the nervous system, heart, lungs, digestive tract, reproductive tract, limbs and head.
