Overview
The Cross-Cultural Communication course from UCL Summer School provides you with background knowledge of different cultural models and approaches that impact people’s behaviour in a professional setting.
The module will raise your awareness of potential areas of cultural differences and ways to improve your intercultural communication ability.
It considers a range of professional skills and situations from intercultural perspectives to prepare you for confident communication in work- or study-related settings.

- Compared and evaluated different cultural approaches to teamwork, leadership and decision-making and will be able to relate to and choose the most effective strategies for a particular professional context.
- Identified and interpreted communication skills patterns and cultural differences in maintaining small talk, building rapport, participating in international meetings and negotiations.
