Overview

How you’ll learn

Teaching takes place in small, discussion-based classes, allowing students to actively engage with medical concepts rather than memorising facts. Tutors guide learners through real-life medical scenarios and case studies, encouraging students to ask questions, analyse symptoms, and consider different treatment approaches. This approach helps students understand how medical knowledge is applied in practice.

Specialisations / Pathways (topic exploration)

There is no fixed curriculum; instead, content adapts to tutor expertise and student interests. This flexible structure allows students to explore a range of medicine-related pathways, including:

  • Human anatomy & physiology (how body systems function)
  • Pathology & disease (how illness and injury affect the body)
  • Medical ethics (decision-making, responsibility, and patient care)
  • Applied clinical thinking (problem-solving using real case studies)

This structure helps students build a strong foundation while discovering which aspects of medicine interest them most.

Academic development, reflection & skills

The programme includes structured reflection sessions and a skills-focused masterclass on teamwork and collaboration. Students develop transferable skills such as critical thinking, clear communication, teamwork, and analytical reasoning—key foundations for future study in medicine and other science-based disciplines.

Career paths for alumni

While designed for early learners, the course supports informed progression toward future study and careers in areas such as:

  • Medicine and Surgery
  • Biomedical and Health Sciences
  • Nursing and Allied Health Professions
  • Public Health and Medical Research
  • Healthcare-related sciences

Students leave with a clearer understanding of what studying medicine involves and how medical careers connect to academic pathways.

Programme Structure

  • Learning in a small group (no more than 8 students and often fewer) means that you get quality time with your teacher and ask as many questions as you like! Through interactive learning, our teachers will guide you through new concepts and assign you practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills.
  • You will also have an opportunity for group work, independent research, and homework assignments to be discussed in class. Small classes mean everyone gets to have their say, and students learn from debating with one another, as well as from their tutor.
