- Be 16 years of age and over (not currently enrolled in school)
- Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or have a permanent humanitarian visa or certain temporary visa types with study rights
- Reside in either South Australia or Western Australia
- Complete a Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA) proficiency assessment online. Please note that eligible South Australia funded students must undertake assessment on campus.
- Be able to provide an unencumbered National Police Clearance
- Be physically fit to meet the demands of manual handling skills, course mandatory requirements and for future employment
