The Plant Pathology and Entomology course at the Wageningen University and Research has been developed by experts from the laboratories on plant sciences in cooperation with the Royal Netherlands Society of Plant Pathology (KNPV) and the Foundation Willie Commelin Scholten for Phytopathology (WCS).

This online course is designed for professionals working with plantpathology, entomology and related topics. Participants are assumed to have knowledge at BSc level of plant sciences or biology by education or work.
Programme Structure
Topics include:
- Phytopathology (incl. bacteria) (M1): Fungi, general aspects and life cycles of fungal-like species and bacterial plant diseases
- Nematology (M2): Structure and organisation, reproduction, development and survival and dispersal, diagnosis, detection and management of plant-parasitic nematodes
- Entomology (M3): Insect structure and development, reproduction, chemoreception, infochemicals and behaviour and herbivorous insects and host-plant resistance
- Virology (M4): Composition and architecture, taxonomy and classification, genome structure, infection cycle, transmission, symptoms and diagnosis, detection and control of virus diseases
- Extra module: General terms used in plant pathology
