This online course is designed for professionals working with plantpathology, entomology and related topics. Participants are assumed to have knowledge at BSc level of plant sciences or biology by education or work.

Programme Structure

 Topics include:

  • Phytopathology (incl. bacteria) (M1): Fungi, general aspects and life cycles of fungal-like species and bacterial plant diseases
  • Nematology (M2): Structure and organisation, reproduction, development and survival and dispersal, diagnosis, detection and management of plant-parasitic nematodes
  • Entomology (M3): Insect structure and development, reproduction, chemoreception, infochemicals and behaviour and herbivorous insects and host-plant resistance
  • Virology (M4): Composition and architecture, taxonomy and classification, genome structure, infection cycle, transmission, symptoms and diagnosis, detection and control of virus diseases
  • Extra module: General terms used in plant pathology
